This handy (and mighty cute) ring will move through your sewing room and whole house with you. It’s very lightweight and comfortable. The ring base is adjustable so it will fit anyone on any finger. I enclosed a lightweight, impenetrable barrier in the base of the pincushion to protect your finger from over-aggressive pin jabbing. The ring is made from base metal. The pincushion is cotton fabric stuffed with polyester batting. Please note that the design/placement is slightly different on each ring. Yours may vary slightly from those pictured. When you’re finished sewing for the day, I suggest that you transfer your pins to one of my emery pincushions (available in my shop) to keep your pins and needles sharp. No longer for sale. I've run out of this fabric. ______ Are you familiar with the little strawberry that comes along with the famous tomato pincushion? Do you know the purpose of that strawberry? It's an emery pincushion. Its purpose is to sharpen your pins and needles. It is filled with a mineral called "emery". Here's my larger, handmade version. These pincushions are small, as far as pincushions go, but large for emery pincushions. They measure approximately 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) by 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm). They are covered twice. I wanted to be sure that the emery did not escape through the seams or through pinholes made into the fabric. I first made little pillows filled with emery, then covered those with the print fabric. The Lucia exterior features a beautiful medium weight red cotton print fabric and a complimentary solid chocolate colored twill on the interior.

The Lucia has one main internal space with two side pockets along one side making a total of 3 internal spaces. The 2 internal main pockets are each large enough to hold a PDA, a wallet or a couple compacts. The large internal space can accomodate a diaper or your current paperback.
